What is LEMURplex?

LEMURplex is a new performance, gallery and teaching space, as well as LEMUR's home and workshop. LEMURplex is located at 461 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn between the vibrant neighborhoods of Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Gowanus and Red Hook. LEMURplex was established to teach and showcase the best in art and technology.


Performances at LEMURplex feature live music, video, dance and interactivity from the most innovative and cutting-edge artists from New York and beyond. Tranzducer, LEMUR's first performance series occurs on the last Friday of every month.


LEMURplex hosts gallery shows and installations of the best in electronic art. We will showcase interactive music, video and robotic works from LEMUR and affiliated artists. Check back for openings or sign onto our mailing list.


LEMURplex holds classes in a wide range of art and technology subjects, taught by New York City's best teachers of electronic art. See the Classes link to view our current class offerings.


LEMURplex will initiate artist-in-residence, composer-in-residence and researcher-in-residence programs in 2008. These programs will enable selected artists, composers and researchers from around the world to work at LEMURplex, utilize the robots and extensive workshop facilities and collaborate with LEMUR artists and technologists.
